Nick Glencross - Technical Director

Nick has been a part of many areas of the IT industry in his career, and has found that all have had their own unique appeal.

From positions in consultancy firms, software developers and hardware distributors he has worked on projects large and small, for all manner of clients, from banks to telecommunication companies and beyond.

Nick wanted just one thing: more say in the direction of his work.

Nick met Anthony Molloy about 10 years ago at a previous workplace, and has been bumping into him ever since. With skills that complement each other brilliantly, they decided to form Accelerate4.

Nick can now apply the principles he has discovered from his diverse experience through Accelerate4.

He knows that technology professionals often complain that if they had been allowed to proceed in their preferred way, then the project would have been quicker, easier or more effective.

With Accelerate4 Nick can now ensure that innovative ideas are heard, and developers know that they have a real role in the way a project progresses.

Nick likes solutions that are an exact but expandable fit. Many years ago, he created a fix for an employer that revolutionised the network setup, saved employees time every day and added to the service available to the client. The system still exists today, and thanks to Nick’s forethought has been easy to update.

With Accelerate4 he can create these adaptable, bespoke solutions.

Nick has always enjoyed innovative projects, with different and new challenges to regularly stretch his creativity - he has participated in various open source projects, including the Parrot Virtual Machine for Perl6. 

And as Nick enjoys getting hands-on, at Accelerate4 he can still work from the trenches as one of the team of tactical technical talent.
